No. 21/22 Baylor baseball dropped a 15-9 decision to UTSA on Tuesday evening at Baylor Ballpark. The Bears (18-7) trailed from the get-go and were not able to keep up with the Roadrunners (12-11) offense.

UTSA scratched four runs in the first inning, and after BU scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the first, the Roadrunners scored two more in the second for a 6-1 lead.

The Roadrunners then heated up again with a run in the fifth, two in the sixth, four in the seventh and one apiece in the eighth and ninth innings.

Baylor rallied for one in the eighth on an error and seven in the ninth, but it wasn’t enough. T.J. Raguse posted a two-run double, Cameron Miller had an RBI double, Matt Menard grounded out for an RBI, Tucker Johnson notched an RBI single and Davis Wendzel hit a two-run home run for the scoring in the final frame.

UTSA reliever Steven Dressler (1-2) earned the win, allowing no runs on three hits with two strikeouts in five innings. BU starter Alex Phillips (3-1) was tagged with the loss, giving up four runs on five hits and one walk with one strikeout in one inning.
