Highlanders jump to third in NJCAA poll

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

The McLennan Highlanders baseball squad, with an overall record of 22-5, jumped two spots to third in this week’s NJCAA Division I Baseball Rankings. Chipola (Florida) continues to hold the top spot with a record of 27-4 followed by Dyersburg State (Tennessee) in second with a 26-2 record.

Odessa, a Region V opponent for the Highlanders, is fourth with a record of 21-3. Panola from Region XIV is 12th with a record of 23-5 and is the only other Texas school in the poll. Grayson is receiving votes.

The Highlanders face Hill College in a four-game conference series this week beginning with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Bosque River Ballpark.
