A woman was shot in the leg after an altercation Tuesday night.
According to Waco police, the altercation happened at 6:30 p.m. on the 1100 block of Adams.
Police said a man, Derrick Walker, 56, was involved in a physical altercation with a 20-year-old woman and shot her one time in her right leg.
Walker sustained injuries during the altercation and he and the victim were taken to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest for injuries.
Walker was released and arrested and taken to McLennan County Jail.
Walker is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
