McLennan Softball 13th in NJCAA poll

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

The McLennan Highlassies softball team is ranked 13th in the latest NJCAA Division I Softball Poll. The Highlassies have an overall record of 20-8 and are 4-2 in conference play.

Butler (Kansas) is ranked first with a 26-0 record followed by Florida SouthWestern State in second with a record of 36-3 and Chipola (Florida) in third with a 33-2 record. Central Florida (29-6) and Salt Lake (Utah) with a 15-4 record round out the top five.

Midland (15-6) and Weatherford (21-6), a Region V North opponent for McLennan, sit at ninth and 10th, respectively. Angelina (24-6) is 12th, San Jacinto (20-12) is 14th and Tyler (22-11) is 15th. 

The Highlassies continue conference play tomorrow with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Ranger.
