Belton is looking to move forward with the next two years of their five year road maintenance plan.

"We have been able to take care of about 30 miles of streets in the city of Belton. It's a significant amount of streets that we've touched in the past three years," City Engineer, Angellia Points said.

That's because the city has been working on improving the roads through a maintenance plan.

"We developed a five year street maintenance plan and that plan says that within five years ideally, we would touch every street in Belton," Points added.

Angellia Points said Belton is running out of funds to finish the project in two years.

"We are going to be looking at alternative treatments either to lower costs or make it more efficient or more sustainable treatment for the city of Belton," Points said.

City Engineer Points says the city should know by October if it will be able to move forward with the 42 miles of work left on project.
