For the past few weeks, News Channel 25 has shared tips on how to prepare your car, your pets, your plants, and your pipes for the cold weather.
Here are some tips from the Texas Department of Public Safety on how to prepare yourself and your home:
- Make sure heaters and fireplaces are clean and well-ventilated to avoid starting a fire
- Make sure you're well stocked on food for yourself and your pets
- Check on friends and family whose health or age put them at greater risk from cold weather
