The city of West Police Department is reminding citizens that the city has prohibited the use of fireworks within city limits.
Fireworks are allowed outside of the city limits and the West Police department asks for you to enjoy the fireworks there and to have a happy and safe New Years.

ARTICLE 5.02 FIREWORKS†
Sec. 5.02.001 Penalty
Any person violating any part of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in accordance with section 1.01.009 of this code. (Ordinance adopted 1/18/1955, sec. 3; Ordinance adopting Code)Sec. 5.02.002 Sale

Lorena has also banned fireworks within city limits.
