Fireworks are not allowed inside West city limits

WEST, TX (KXXV) -

The city of West Police Department is reminding citizens that the city has prohibited the use of fireworks within city limits.

Fireworks are allowed outside of the city limits and the West Police department asks for you to enjoy the fireworks there and to have a happy and safe New Years.

This is the ordinance on fireworks in West: 

ARTICLE 5.02 FIREWORKS†

Sec. 5.02.001 Penalty
Any person violating any part of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in accordance with section 1.01.009 of this code. (Ordinance adopted 1/18/1955, sec. 3; Ordinance adopting Code)

Sec. 5.02.002 Sale
It shall be lawful for any person to sell fireworks within the city limits at any time. (Ordinance adopted 1/18/1955, sec. 1)

Sec. 5.02.003 Use in city limits prohibited
It shall be unlawful for any person to fire or use or explode any fireworks at any time within the city limits. (Ordinance adopted 1/18/1955, sec. 2; Ordinance adopting Code)

Lorena has also banned fireworks within city limits.
