Man who died in shooting in Killeen identified

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

The man that was shot early last Friday morning died from his injuries. He has been identified as 40-year-old Carman Latchie of Killeen.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition early Friday morning after a shooting in Killeen.

The shooting happened around 5:40 a.m. near North 22nd Street and Parmer Lane. 

Killeen Police Department spokesperson Carroll Smith said a passerby waved officers down while they were on their way to a shots-fired call in the area.

The passerby told police they saw a man lying on the road. The man had gunshot wounds, Smith said.

The man was pronounced dead at 8:15 a.m.

Police did not provide a description of any suspect or suspects.
