The City of Waco Fireworks Ordinance will be strictly enforced always and especially this New Year’s weekend according to the Waco Fire Department.

In Waco, you are prohibited from the use, possession, manufacturing, selling, giving away, transporting or discharging fireworks within the city limits without permission from a fire marshal.

It is important to remember that the ordinance still applies 5,000 feet outside of Waco. The ordinance also prohibits the possession of fireworks by a minor.

Fireworks allowed in the city limits without a permit are smoke bombs, “snakes,” “snap and pops,” sparklers and champagne poppers.

Fireworks purchased at stands outside the city limits (except for items listed above) are illegal to use or own.

Fireworks sold by retail stores in Waco, such as Walmart, Target, etc. are allowed.
