Santa isn't the only one still gathering gifts to get ready for Christmas day.

Stores were full of people Saturday, for all different reasons, buying last minute Christmas gifts.

Some shoppers said they had just been outright lazy until now while others had finally been told what their friends and family wanted for Christmas.

But two people had a unique reason for being out and about today.

"Well actually, we're in the Army Reserves and just got back from deployment overseas. We were in the Middle East for quite some time and we recently got back. Now we are just hanging out shopping for our family while we're waiting to go home," Arielle Turnage of the U.S. Army Reserve said.

Turnage and her friend, Robert Alvarez, will have the chance to celebrate with their families in a few weeks.

But, in the mean time, they plan on spending Christmas day with the family their unit adopted.

The two also joked the mall crowds moved slightly slower than they're use to, but that they managed just fine thanks to their strategic military training.
