The Belton High School Robotics Team traveled to Frisco to compete in state championship.

The team took third place at the 2016 UIL BEST Robotics State Championship that took place Dec. 8-9.

"The BEST Robotics program offers students a real-world engineering experience as they model an engineering firm tasked with designing, manufacturing and marketing a robot with limited supplies and in a limited amount of time," said robotics coach Toni Greene.

The team was challenged to build a robot that could navigate a course of several farming tasks. The robot had to plant seeds, harvest produce, feed pigs, and turn on a water valve.
