A truckload of oatmeal will be delivered to several food banks across Texas this week.

H-E-B will be delivering its Quick Oats Oatmeal to 17 food banks across the state.

"One in six Texans live in food insecure, including one in four Texas children," said H-E-B Public Affairs Manager Danny Flores. "As the largest food retailer in the state, it is our dedicated mission to give back to communities in need and do our part to make sure no family goes hungry this holiday season."

The fleet will begin delivering the oatmeal Monday and will provide enough oatmeal to provide over 2.3 million meals to communities across Texas.

The 17 food banks chosen are affiliated with Feeding America. Each bank will receive 4,608 boxes of oatmeal.

The Brazos Valley Food Bank in Bryan-College Station is on the list to receive the oatmeal.
