Riding a 14-game winning streak, the Crawford Pirates lost to the Refugio Bobcats for the 2A DI state championship in a tight game, 23-20.

Refugio kicked a field goal with less than 10 seconds left in the game to give them the lead.

After losing their first game of the year, the Pirates rattled off 14-straight wins in route to their first Championship game birth in 12 years.

The Pirates’ offense did most of the damage for them this season.  They scored at least 41 points in five of their last six contests.

A win would have given Crawford their second championship in program history.
