The City of Copperas has hired Eddie Wilson as the new chief of police.
Wilson began serving as interim chief of police in April 2015. He will officially be promoted on Dec. 10 2016.
Wilson was born in South Korea and came to Copperas Cove as a military dependent in 1973. Wilson went to Central Texas College, majoring in criminal justice. He joined the Copperas Cove Police Department in 1989 and graduated at the top of his class at the Central Texas Regional Police Academy.
