Santa Claus made a special appearance at McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple on Wednesday afternoon.

Santa visited some of the newest children on this year's nice list in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

One child Santa visited was Domonique who was born 17 weeks early. Domonique has lived in the McLane Children's NICU for the past four months.

"He's grown so big and to, first of all, allow somebody else to hold him as special as Santa... it get's no better than that," Domonique's mother LaToya Anthony said. "Santa coming to visit us is just like the cherry on the cake. Christmas came to us,"

After a long fight to get healthy, Domonique will be going home on Friday and get to spend his first Christmas at home.

Santa's visit is an annual event hosted by McLane Children’s Hospital to help new parents get through a tough time during the holiday season.
