Highlanders defeat Fort Hood

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

The McLennan Highlanders kept their perfect season record alive with a 100-67 win over the Fort Hood Phantom Warriors tonight at the Highlands.

The Highlanders opened the game on a 7-0 run and built a double-digit lead with 16:33 to play in the first half, 16-6. Delvon Henderson drained back-to-back 3-pointers for from well beyond the arc for the Phantom Warriors to cut the lead to four, 16-12, with 15:32 to go in the first. The Highlanders began to pull away and led by as many as 25. Fort Hood rallied to cut the lead to 13 at the break, 49-36.

McLennan put the game away early in second half, opening on a 22-3 run to stretch the lead to 71-39 with 13:04 remaining in the game and cruised the remainder of the way.

Shannon Bogues led five Highlanders in double figures with 16 points and Zarious Wilson scored 15. Isaiah Gurley and Fred Jackson scored 13 points each. Daniel Pinho Severo and Julius Palmer scored 10 points each.
