Man arrested after renovating building without consent

TROY, TX (KXXV) -

The Bell County Sheriff’s Department said a man was caught renovating a home without the owner’s consent.

Police said they were dispatched to the 4400 block of Southerland Rd. in Troy about a burglary of a building in progress.

The owner said she found a man, 25-year-old Andrew Shafer, with her tools renovating her property.

Shafer was arrested and transported to the Bell County Jail. He was charged with burglary of a building and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

    The new accusation came just a few hours after negotiators had reached an agreement to hold a public hearing Thursday for Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, who accuses him of sexually assaulting her at a party when they were teenagers.
