One person died and three others were injured after a head-on collision early Saturday morning in Coryell County.
Troopers were called to SH 36 just before 2:45 a.m. Saturday to investigate the crash.
DPS troopers said 23-year-old Lance Michael Stevens was driving a 2006 Kia Optima northbound on SH 36, about a mile north of The Grove when he drifted into on-coming traffic.
The Kia hit an an ambulance, which was transporting a patient from Brownwood to the V.A. hospital in Temple.
Stevens was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, second ambulance crew member and patient in the ambulance were transported to Baylor Scott & White in Temple with non-incapacitating injuries.
DPS said there are no pending charges.
