Better Business Bureau advises shoppers to exercise caution on Cyber Monday

The Better Business Bureau recommends shoppers to exercise caution when shopping online on Cyber Monday.

Amanda Mynarcik who was shopping at the Cabela’s in Waco on Black Friday said she planned to participate on the online shopping holiday.  

"I spend a lot of time with my kids so it's a lot easier to do that online. We do like to compare shop so that makes it easier to find out which one is cheaper,” Mynarcik said.

If she finds a cheaper price online, she said she is cautious at the time of check out.

"We will just pay with Paypal. If it doesn't take it, we usually don't buy it,” Mynarcik said.

Better Business Bureau Regional Director Adam Price advises shoppers to make sure they are using a legitimate site.

In addition, he recommends making sure the website is secure. He said the web address should have https at the beginning.

"Otherwise is not a secure website and you are putting yourself in danger of having identity theft because your credit card information could be stolen,” Price said.

He added to make sure the estimated shipping and taxes before shopping online.
