A woman in Temple said her street floods with sewer water when it rains.

Lena Johnson lives in the 1100 block of E. South 22nd Street. She said she has lived on the street for a while, but had not noticed the problem until recently.

"I've been here for five years... it never did this before this year," Johnson said. "When you come out the door, you smell boo boo -- even when it's not raining," Johnson said.

The Temple resident said the sewer flooding did not start until early this year, when Central Texas got inundated with rain. Johnson said she's been trying to get the city to do something about it every since.

"I called and told them this stuff, this raw sewage was running down the road again, and they just came out here and sit them two cones," she said.

Johnson said that's what the city does every time she calls.

News Channel 25 ask to speak with city officials about the sewage flooding onto the street, but we were told the person we needed to speak with was unavailable before the story aired.

Johnson said she hopes that the issue can get resolved so that she and her family won't have to worry about the kinds of health hazards sewage could cause.

"Please come fix the problem before my grand-kids or myself get affected by this," she said.
