Police have identified the woman who died after a crash on Old Highway 95 near Little River Academy.
Police say that Miranda Ortiz, 23, and an 11-month-old infant were traveling southbound on Highway 95 at 7:35 a.m when Ortiz drifted off the roadway and over corrected. Ortiz's car crossed the center stripe and into the path of an oncoming Jeep traveling northbound.
Ortiz was pronounced dead at the scene and the 11-month-old infant in her car was taken to McLane Children's Scott & White Hospital.
The driver and passenger of the Jeep were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say that no charges are being filed at this time.
