Friends and family look for AWOL Fort Hood soldier

FORT HOOD, TX (KXXV) -

Friends, family, and officials at Fort Hood are searching for a soldier with Absent Without Leave status. 

Pvt. Dakota Stump, 19, was last heard from on Monday, according to family members. 

The 1st Cavalry Division confirmed that Pvt. Stump was in AWOL status and was being searched for by his unit. According to the 1st Cavalry Division Public Affairs office, every effort is being made to find him and "have no further insight as to whether or not he is in immediate danger."

According to family, Stump drives a black Ford Mustang with a red interior.

Fort Hood officials say that out of 37,000 soldiers, 12 soldiers are currently AWOL.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call police.
