McNeill, Ward, Wilkerson Named ASC Football Players of the Week

BELTON, TX (KXXV) -

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Bryce Wilkerson has been named American Southwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Cru’s 59-10 victory at Howard Payne University on Saturday. UMHB has now had at least one ASC Player of the Week following each of the team’s five victories.

Wilkerson, a junior kick returner and wide receiver from Tyler Lee High School, scored on a 40-yard punt return to give the Cru a 21-0 lead late in the first quarter. It was his third total kick return for a score this season. Wilkerson finished with three returns for 46 yards and he added five receptions for 34 more yards. This is his third ASC Player of the Week honor this season.

The Cru is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in ASC play following the victory over Howard Payne. UMHB will return to action with a 1:00 PM kickoff against 16th-ranked East Texas Baptist University (5-0, 1-0 ASC) this Saturday in Marshall.
