DPS arrests man after high speed chase in Coryell County

CORYELL COUNTY, TX (KXXV) -

The Bell County Department of Public Safety said they have arrested a man after a high speed chase in Coryell County.

Bell County DPS attempted to pull over a Subaru Forester for speeding on U.S. 190 near Bell Tower Rd on Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle fled at speeds up to 115 mph.

The pursuit ended on Ivy Mountain Rd. on Fort Hood. The vehicle lost control and crashed through a fence onto Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport property.

There were two people in the Subaru. The driver, 23-year-old Timothy Blackwell, was uninjured and arrested for evading arrest and detention with a vehicle.

He is in the Coryell County Jail.

The passenger, 29-year-old Candice Jones, was taken to the hospital for issues unrelated to the crash.

Both people in the vehicle were from Copperas Cove.
