WACO, TX (KXXV) -

After rushing for a career-best 237 yards, Baylor senior running back Shock Linwood was named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday.

Linwood produced the career day on 25 carries and added one touchdown to help Baylor come from behind to win at Iowa State, 45-42, on Saturday.

The senior running back racked up 9.5 yards per carry and tallied a long rush of 59 yards, while racking up the fourth-most rushing yards and only the 10th 200-yard game in program history.

The Linden, Texas, product’s 2-yard TD scamper in the second quarter tied Alfred Anderson's (1980-83) school record with 35 career rushing touchdowns. The 237 yards are also the most in a single game for a Big 12 running back this year and the seventh-most in the FBS.

It is the second player of the week honor of Linwood's career, after also earning the accolade on Nov. 11, 2013. He is BU's second Big 12 offensive weekly award winner of the 2016 season (Seth Russell, Sept. 26). Baylor has now had at least two offensive honorees in five of the last six years.

In total, Baylor has had 11 different offensive players honored a combined 20 times since 2002, including 14 honorees in the last five years.

Linwood joins Travon Blanchard (defense), JaMycal Hasty (Newcomer), Seth Russell (offense) and Orion Stewart (defense) as BU players to be recognized by the conference in 2016.

The 13th-ranked Bears (5-0, 2-0) will now enjoy their first off-week of 2016 before hosting Kansas (1-3, 0-1) for Homecoming on Oct. 15.
