Baylor Equestrian Hosts Ninth-Annual Willis Invitational

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

No. 5 Baylor equestrian (1-0) will host the ninth-annual Willis Invitational tournament this weekend, running Friday, Sep. 30, through Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Willis Family Equestrian Center.

The tournament consists of three individual head-to-head meets, featuring matchups with No. 9 Fresno State (0-0), No. 10 New Mexico State (0-0), and South Dakota State (0-0).

The Baylor squad has won all eight previous Willis titles, including a 3-0 sweep of last season’s tournament field of Tennessee-Martin, NMSU, and FSU.

For the second season, Baylor will host live scoring updates of unofficial scores on BaylorBears.com.

    Baylor basketball guard Al Freeman has informed Baylor coaches that he plans to graduate and transfer from the university this semester. Freeman will be immediately eligible to play for any non-Big 12 school next season. Freeman started 22 games this season for the Bears, but came off the bench late in the season after being held out of team activities by Baylor coaches. He averaged 9.7 points per game for the Bears this season. More >>
