The Killeen Police Department arrested the man they believe is responsible for stealing over $6,000 worth of equipment from the Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department.

32-year-old Horacio Abner Martinez III was charged with burglary of a building, burglary of a vehicle and violating probation.

On, Friday Sept. 3, Buckholts firefighters noticed equipment was missing after coming back from a run.

When they looked at surveillance video, they saw a man drove up in a silver Pontiac SUV enter through the bay doors of the department.

For less than thirty minutes, surveillance showed the man take bunker gear, a flotation pump and several uniforms.

Police released the surveillance video to News Channel 25 the following week.

Chief Shawn Newsom said thanks to our story, they were able to identify Martinez in the videos.

He was booked into the Bell County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
