Leon County Sheriffs fight the sale of drugs in the area

The Leon County Sheriff's Office recently posted on Facebook about their continued efforts on fighting the sale and use of drugs in the area.

On Friday Sept. 9, deputies recovered marijuana, cocaine, scales and a pistol from a car at a gas station in Centerville.

The also seized $2,000 of drug money. One person was arrested.

On Sept. 14, the county's special response team helped the Groesbeck Police Department served an arrest warrant for a woman wanted for methamphetamine at a travel trailer in the Marquez area. 

When she was arrested, a man inside the home attempted to inject what was believed to be meth into his system. He was also arrested and police obtained a warrant to search the trailer. 

More meth and paraphernalia were found.

The next day deputies helped the Leon County Sheriff's Office destroy almost 6,000 marijuana plants worth an estimated $2.9 million.
