College Station police are investigating after a wrong-way crash sent two drivers to the hospital.

It happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of William D. Fitch Parkway.

Police said one of the drivers drove the wrong way on the highway and crashed head-on into the other driver's car.

Firefighters had to extricate both drivers from their cars, according to police.

They were both taken to the hospital with what police are calling "incapacitating injuries."

An early investigation revealed that one of the drivers thought she was driving the right way on the highway.

Charges are possible as the investigation into the crash continues.
