College Station police are investigating after finding a woman's body in an apartment near Texas A&M University's campus Saturday night.

Police said they were called out to the Scandia Apartments in the 400 block of Anderson Street about 7:45 p.m. after a man told them he believed a woman had been shot.

When officers arrived, they found the body of 21-year-old Maricarmen Quiroz-Octaviano in one of the apartments.

Police said they believe her death was the result of a domestic dispute.

As of early Sunday morning, no one was in custody, according to police.

Police confirmed Quiroz-Octaviano was a student at Texas A&M University. Online records showed she was a senior studying genetics.

The Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.
