CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Cincinnati Police are investigating a video that appears to show a man shooting into a crowd of people as he drives through a Price Hill neighborhood.

In the video, a man records himself in the back of a car aiming a handgun out the window and firing at about a dozen people - most of which appear to be minors. The video had been viewed more than 90,000 times on Facebook, but has since been taken down.

(Warning: Video contains vulgar language.)

It is unclear if the weapon was real or if shots were fired. However, no injuries in that area have been reported.

Cincinnati Police say they are aware of the video and are investigating.

A department spokesperson said this incident could carry misdemeanor charges of aggravated menacing, or felony charges of felonious assault if someone was hurt.

The video also caught the attention of City Hall.

"I am sad and disheartened to see one of our young people displaying such a violent act on Facebook," Cincinnati Councilwoman and Mayoral candidate said. "We can't wait; the time is now. Our District 3 officers are investigating this incident."

The video appears to have been filmed on Ross Avenue near Warsaw Avenue in Price Hill. It’s unclear if the gun is a pellet gun, BB gun, a real gun or something else.

While it is not clear if the gun is real or not, police say that is beside the point. "The citizens that were on that street believed it was real. They're running for cover. It was causing panic," District 3 Commander Cpt. Aaron Jones said. "What if someone sees a firearms pointed at them, they become scared and start firing back?"

"It's crazy.  That's not funny. They're shooting at little kids,” said one woman who lives nearby. “That's not funny.  I don't think it's cute.  You're think you're big? That's not cool. That's not the cool thing to do."

One person, who goes by the street name "Money," claims to know the suspect. "It's kids, like, kids on the street. Kids be everywhere. Somebody could have got hurt, man, like severely hurt."

FOX19 NOW reached out to the suspect and he declined to comment.
