A man was arrested after police say he fled from a deputy trying to stop his vehicle.

A Bell County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop Isom Jenkins, 23, after seeing him speed on U.S. 190. When the deputy tried to stop Jenkins after he exited the highway, Jenkins sped away and refused to stop for the deputy.

Jenkins turned off his lights and evaded the deputy. After losing contact, the deputy stopped pursuing the vehicle.

Harker Heights police located the vehicle and Jenkins on Robin Lane and Bluebird Drive. Jenkins apologized for not stopping for police.

Jenkins is being held in Bell County Jail and charged with Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle.
