The Woodway Public Safety Department arrested 26-year-old Jose Pardo for a burglary of habitation that happened in 2015 on Tuesday.

In the burglary on Sept. 30 2015, detectives discovered blood on a broken window pane left by the suspect. The blood was sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s crime lab for analysis.

Several items were stolen in the burglary, including firearms, televisions, computers and jewelry.

The DPS lab was able to establish a DNA profile on the suspect from the blood in July 2016.

On Aug. 9 2016, the lab notified the Woodway Public Safety Department of a DNA match with Pardo.

Police said Pardo has an extensive history for burglary related offenses and had a current warrant for his arrest from the Waco Police Department.

Pardo was booked into the McLennan County Jail. None of the property stolen from the home in 2015 has been located.

The investigation is ongoing.
