A man has been found guilty of a 2014 crime that left a woman with a neck laceration.
Sylvester Bryant, 54, was arrested in August of 2014 after a woman he went on a date with told police that he punched her and cut her neck after denying his sexual advances.
Police said that Bryant had attacked the woman while she was driving and cut the back of her neck with a box cutter.
The woman also told police that Bryant tried to push her out of the car while it was moving. She was able to escape after she stopped the car and Bryant kicked her out.
Bryant was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A jury found Bryant guilty of aggravated assault on Thursday.
The punishment phase begins Thursday afternoon.
