The child that was transported to the hospital after sustaining injuries has died.
Bryan Police are investigating after the child was transported to the hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries.
Police said that a 21-month-old child in the 200 block of Lynn was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston with critical injuries and was taken off of life support on September 1.
Police said the mother of the child was at work and the life threatening injuries are believed to have been from the mother’s boyfriend.
The boyfriend, Alexis Balleno, 22, was arrested by Bryan police Wednesday.
Balleno was charged with Reckless Injury to a child and is being held to at the Brazos County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
The Brazos County District Attorney's Office said it will revisit the charges when the case is presented to the grand jury.
