A motorcyclist was seriously injured after running a red light and hitting a Ford Fusion. He was transported to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest where he underwent emergency surgery due to massive internal injuries.

The motorcyclist, 27-year-old Gregory Jefferson, had ran another red light before hitting the car.

Officials added that the man was going 65 mph in an area with a 30 mph speed limit.

An officer had attempted to pull over the motorcyclist around 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning, but did not pursue him when he sped off.

The accident happened near Clay Ave. and 18th St in Waco.
