A McLennan County man is dead after getting attacked by a swarm of bees.
68-year-old Donald Williams was mowing his yard just before noon Friday in the 6100 block of Old Mexia Road, just north of the BSR water park, when the swarm of honey bees attacked.
Williams's wife saw her husband lying on the ground covered in bees, but she braved the swarm to reach him. She got stung multiple times, but was able to call 911 and start CPR.
An ambulance took Williams to Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, but doctors weren't able to save him.
