Man sent to hospital after being hit by a city vehicle

KILLEEN, TX (KXXV) -

One man was sent to the hospital after being hit by a city truck in Killeen.  

According to Killeen police, a man was exiting from a Transit Concrete Mixer when he was struck by a City of Killeen Utilities Collection pickup. 

The accident happened on the 5200 block of Bunny Trail, near W. Stan Schlueter Loop. 

When police arrived on scene, a man was found lying in the roadway.

The man was taken to Baylor Scott & White with an arm and leg injury and is in stable condition.

According to police, the concrete mixer was stopped in the left turn lane facing south and the driver was walking north towards the rear when he was struck. 

Police are investigating the accident. There is no word if the city worker will face any charges.
