Hewitt Police are seeking the public's assistance to identify two men who broke into Hewitt Elementary on early Friday morning and stole at least one iPad.

According to Hewitt Police, officers were called at 5:15 a.m. in reference to a burglary of a building. Officers said at 1:11 a.m. two unknown suspects wearing masks and gloves went into the school, breaking a classroom window. Then they went into the main hallways of the building and attempted to break into three classrooms.

Police said it is possible other property is taken, but it is unknown at this time.

According to Midway ISD spokeswoman said teachers spent Friday morning doing inventory and ordering replacement for the equipment. Students at Midway ISD will start the school year on Tuesday.

“It’s distracting and deflating to deal with this instead of getting ready to start the school year,” Marlin said.

If you have any information about the suspects, you can contact Hewitt Police at 254-666-6272.
