In an extremely emotional scene, a McLennan County jury returned a guilty verdict in the trial of Arthur Bronchae Kirven who was accused of severely injuring an eight-month-old resulting in his death.

The jury of five women and seven men spent around an hour and a half deliberating before returning the guilty verdict on two counts of first-degree injury to a child.

Kirven received a sentence of 35 years in prison.

As the 19th Court Judge Ralph Strother read the jury's guilty verdict, the defendant passed out.

Family members of the defendant began to cry. The mother of the deceased child who testified she didn't believe Bronache would harm the baby left the courtroom inconsolable.

The defendant regained consciousness as the judge read the verdict guilty on the second count.

Kirven wept and shouted, "I didn't do anything wrong, I didn't do anything wrong."

The judge ordered Kirven's bond be revoked.
