Baylor University freshmen students started moving into some residence halls on Wednesday.

According to Baylor University, the freshman class is expected to be the second-largest in Baylor's history with more than 3,500 students. This year, they have nearly 3,400 volunteers helping students move into the dorms, the most ever from faculty, staff, student, church and the community.

Clint Yates who was helping his son, Christopher, move to Hallie Earle Hall on Wednesday had mixed emotions about his son starting college.

"It's good and bad. It's good to move on and exciting but we are going to miss him at the same time," Clint said.

Christopher, who came to Waco from Texarkana, said he will miss his father. He chose Baylor for its Pre-medicine program.

"I'm very excited it's the next chapter of my life and I get to started today," Christopher Yates said.

The move in day at Baylor will continue on Thursday. It is expected to be busier because the majority of freshman are expected to move in then.

Classes start on Monday, Aug. 22.
