Several IHOP restaurants nationwide will serve short stacks for a cause.

IHOP will offer a short stack of buttermilk pancakes for $1 to benefit No Kid Hungry, an initiative to fight childhood hunger.

100 percent of the proceeds will go to the nonprofit.

The chain hopes to serve one million pancakes.

The event will take place on Tuesday, August 23 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m at participating locations.
