VIDEO: Man may have robbed two Central Texas area motels

Police released surveillance video of a man they believe was involved in two separate armed robberies of Motel 6 in Central Texas.

Bellmead Police said the suspect entered the Motel 6 lobby at 10 a.m. with a semi-automatic handgun and his face covered with a bandana.

The man escaped from the motel with almost $200 in cash.  Officers set up a perimeter around a field adjacent to the area after learning the man fled over a fence into an open field.

Several agencies were called in to help with the search. McLennan County Sheriff’s Office dispatched a helicopter, TSTC sent a K-9 unit and La Vega ISD Police, and Lacy Lakeview Police department set up a perimeter in the area.

In a release, Bellmead Police said they believe that the suspect may have been involved in an early Aggravated Robbery in Temple.

According to Temple Police, a man pulled a gun out in the lobby of the Motel 6 on 1610 West Nugent Ave. in Temple.

The man demanded cash before running away from the scene.

Police are asking that anyone with information on either robbery call contact officials.
