Man killed in fatal motorcycle crash was Fort Hood soldier

A Fort Hood soldier was killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday morning.

Logan Rainwater entered active-duty military service in 2013 as a motor transport operator. He was assigned to 154th Composite Truck Company, 553rd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, since November 2015.

The accident happened on the intersection of Clear Creek Road and Janelle Drive around 9:15 a.m.

A SUV was headed southbound on Clear Creek Road when it tried to turn onto Janelle Drive, failing to yield the right of way to the motorcycle that was traveling northbound.

Rainwater was found lying on the side of the road and was taken to Metroplex Hospital in critical condition.

He died from his injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
