A Central Texas college will begin complying with a Senate bill that allows licensed holders to conceal carry on college campuses across the state, but with modification.

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) began allowing students to conceal carry on its ten campuses on August 1.

TSTC released a statement saying that the college respects the rights of students to conceal carry and has designated certain buildings and spaces as “gun-free zones.”

These gun-free zones include the police departments, child-care facilities, and activity spaces for children K – 12.

The college says the zones will be clearly marked and was a modification that Senate Bill 11 allows.
