In the wake of recent violence, law enforcement agencies across the country and Central Texas are taking to social media to express their condolences after the tragedy in Louisiana.

Sgt. Patrick Swanton with the Waco Police Department says the recent tragedies won't stop them from doing their job.

"Our citizens know that we won't stop. we'll always be there for them. its our job is to protect and to serve and that's why we get up everyday and put on the uniform and leave and go to work is to take care of our citizens and that's not going to end. We're not going to quit that," Waco Police Spokesman Sgt. Patrick Swanton Said.

People in Central Texas are showing their support for local law enforcement. Several departments across the area have had people bring cards, flowers, and desserts to the departments to show their support.

"We've had a huge outpouring of support from our community with flowers and cards, gifts, candies, cake," Swanton said. "Just knowing that level of community support we have towards law enforcement in the community is awesome to see."
