WACO, TX (KXXV) -

Police are searching for an armed suspect after a Central Texas Marketplace storefront was robbed Thursday afternoon.

Waco Police are searching for 5-feet-7 man who is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old. He is accused of conducting an aggravated robbery at Sally's Beauty Supply before 1:20 p.m.

Police say that the man was acting like he was going to purchase something and then showed a clerk his firearm and demanded money. The clerk who was at the store at the time was not injured.

The suspect left the store and got into a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Police said the suspect had shoulder length hair in a ponytail.

Police said the vehicle was last seen going down Highway 6, which is where police is conducting a manhunt for the suspect. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Waco Police say this robbery is unusual because of it happening during the day and having a lot of traffic at that location.

"Pretty brazen robbery coming into a business like this with this many people around. Fortunately no one was hurt," Waco Police Spokesman Sgt. Patrick Swanton said.
