Community members have come out in full force to support police in the wake of the Dallas shootings.

Around noon, the city of Dallas held a prayer vigil in Thanksgiving Square. Faith leaders, as well as Mayor Mike Rawlings, spoke about a need for love and the desire to support police officers who do their job professionally.

Outside of police headquarters a memorial is growing for the slain police officers.

Throughout the day people have been place flowers, toys, and candles at the site.

People young and old showed out offering whatever support they could for officers, whether it was food, water or even a simple thank you.

For those interested in sending donations to the families of the fallen officers, Dallas Police say contributions can be made to Assist the Officer Foundation.
