Waco Police have named an interim Police Chief who will begin after current Police Chief Brent Stroman retires.
Waco City Manager Frank Gentsch currently serves as an Assistant Chief for the City of Waco but will step into his role of Interim Police Chief on August 1.
Gentsch began his law enforcement career as a Police Cadet in Waco in 1980.
He was commissioned into an officer in 1981, and has served as a Special Investigator, the Special Crimes Unit, and as a Sergeant.
