Waco police investigating 2 robberies that might be related

Waco Police are investigating two robberies over the weekend that might be related.

The first robbery happened on Friday at 3:45 p.m. at the Family Dollar on Summer Ave in Waco.

A man came into the store with a blue bandana covering his nose and mouth with a handgun. He went to the register and stole cash and five packs of Newport cigarettes.

The suspect fled on foot.

The other robbery happened at the Rida Corner Store on 1825 Alexander Ave. on Saturday night.  

The suspect entered the store with a blue bandana covering his nose and mouth with a handgun.

In this robbery, the man grabbed a customer by putting his arm around her neck. He put the gun at her head, and she gave him her money.

The clerk then gave the man cash and two packs of Newport cigarettes.

There were no injuries or arrests at either scene.
